TEHRAN – The congress of “Women in Islamic Societies” is to be held by the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) in Istanbul November 21, 2006, MNA reported.

The congress that is going to be held in Turkey following the request of the Organization of Islamic Conference in its last session December 2005, aims at studying different questions about women in Islamic and even non-Islamic societies.

Besides the challenges, which women are facing with, the congress deals with the question of women dignity and benevolence.

The congress also pays attention to the issue of violence against women as well as requesting them to contribute in administrative governmental organizations having an active presence in political aspect of the society, the report concluded. MZ/MA END MNA
